CHENNAI (1N) - MAHABALIPURAM (1N) - PONDICHERRY (1N) - TRICHY (1N) - MADURAI (1N)
DAY 01: CHENNAI ARRIVAL + SIGHTSEEING
Upon arrival at the Chennai airport, our tour representative will assist you in smooth transfer to the hotel. Take rest and fresh & up, set out for a full day sightseeing tour of Chennai. Later, visit the famous Marina Beach (the second largest in the world), Kapeleeswar Temple, Fort St. George (the oldest fort in Chennai). Thereafter, head straight to Santhome Cathedral, National Art Gallery, St. Mary’s Church, Anna Zoological Park, Birla Planetarium and People’s Park. Make a brief halt at Kalakshetra and Theosophical Society before returning back to the hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 02: CHENNAI – MAHABALIPURAM
In the morning, Drive to Mahabalipuram, an ancient port city of the Pallavas. visit the famous World Heritage UNESCO sites of Mahabalipuram. First, to the Sea Shore temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Vishnu, and then to Five Rathas “Five Chariots”, a monolithic structure, representing a unique style built by the Pallavas, then finally to Arjuna’s Penance, Varaha Cave and Krishna’s Butter Ball. Have a walk in the artisan’s streets who makes stone sculptures. Return back to the Hotel. Have a rest in the beach resort. Overnight Stay at Mahabalipuram.
DAY 03: MAHABALIPURAM – PONDICHERRY
In the morning, drive to Pondicherry “The French Colony”. Check-in to the hotel. In the late afternoon have a visit to Sri Aurobindo Ashram, an Ashram dedicated to Sri Aurobindo & “The Mother” Have a visit to “The Church of Sacred Heart” and “Notre dame des Anges”, French Colony and markets. Have a rickshaw ride in the commercial streets. Have a rest in the hotel. Overnight Stay at Pondicherry.
DAY 04: PONDICHERRY – TRICHY (200KMS / 3 HRS)
After breakfast, proceed to visit The Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual community (ashram) located in Pondicherry, in the Indian territory of Puducherry. The ashram grew out of a small community of disciples who had gathered around Sri Aurobindo after he retired from politics and settled in Pondicherry in 1910.The most important organization also inspired by the vision of Sri Aurobindo is Auroville, an international township founded by the Mother and dedicated to human unity.Then, visit Thillai Natarajar Temple, Chidambaram or Chidambaram temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in the town of Chidambaram, Cuddalore District, East-Central Tamil Nadu, South India. The temple as it stands now is mainly of the 12th and 13th centuries, with later additions in similar style.On arrival, check- in to your hotel in Trichy.Later, proceed for sightseeing of Trichy visiting places like Jambukeshwar Temple, Rock Fort Temple.Thiruvanaikaval (also Thiruvanaikal, Jambukeswaram) is a famous Shiva temple in Tiruchirapalli (Trichy). The temple was built by Kocengannan (Kochenga Chola), one of the Early Cholas, around 1,800 years ago. It is located in the Srirangam island, which has the famous Ranganathaswamy Temple.Rockfort is a historic fortification and temple complex built on an ancient rock that may date to over one billion years ago. There are two Hindu temples inside, the Ucchi Pillayar Temple, Rock fort and the Thayumanaswami Temple, Rockfort. The fort played an important part during the Carnatic Wars, helping lay the foundations of the British Empire in India. The Rockfort is the most prominent landmark of the city. Overnight at Trichy.
DAY 05: TIRCHY – PALANI – MADURAI
After breakfast and check out, visit to the Sri Rangam – Ranganathaswami temple. In the afternoon drive to Palani Thandayuthapani Temple (One of the Arupadai Veedu) upon arrival visit to Madurai, then check in at hotel, then local sightseeing and overnight stay in the hotel.
DAY 06: MADURAI DEPARTURE
After breakfast check out of the hotel and drive to Departure from Madurai International Airport or Railways station for onward journey.
